Where we work
Everything within about five minutes of Whitfield itself, which is most of what sits between the top of Dover and the A2.
Sitting on chalk downland above Dover, Whitfield has grown a lot in recent years with new estates alongside the older village core around the church. Free-draining ground here suits hawthorn, beech and privet well but can leave a newly planted hedge struggling through a dry summer without a good root system established first.
The older, smaller settlement just south, with more mature gardens and hedges than the newer Whitfield estates. Mature beech and yew are common here.
Down in the Dour valley, a short drive from Whitfield. Damper, heavier ground than Whitfield itself, where box and yew do well and leylandii puts on growth fastest of anywhere we cover.
Also in the Dour valley, between Temple Ewell and Dover proper. Similar heavier ground to Temple Ewell, with a mix of older cottage gardens and newer housing.
East of Whitfield, a small village with a mix of period cottages and more recent infill. Exposed on its higher ground compared to the valley villages.
If you're just outside these villages, get in touch anyway. Most jobs within ten minutes of Whitfield are no trouble.
